Exit Glacier Guided Hike
Hike to the face of Exit Glacier, one of the few glaciers in Alaska accessible by road. Your naturalist guide leads the group along maintained trails with interpretive stops explaining glacial retreat markers that show how far the ice has receded over the past century. The trail climbs gradually through alder thickets and rocky moraine to viewpoints where the blue ice towers overhead. Transportation from the cruise port to Exit Glacier is included, about a 30-minute drive. The hike covers roughly 3 miles round trip with moderate elevation gain. The Harding Icefield Trail extension is available for very fit hikers who want a longer challenge. Waterproof boots and rain layers are essential. This is the most accessible glacier hiking experience in the Seward area.
