Harding Icefield Trail Hike
Challenge yourself with one of Alaska's most rewarding and demanding day hikes. The Harding Icefield Trail climbs 3,500 feet over 8 miles round trip, ascending from the Exit Glacier area through alpine meadows to a viewpoint overlooking the vast Harding Icefield — a 700-square-mile remnant of the last ice age that feeds over 40 glaciers. Transport to the trailhead is included. This is a serious hike requiring excellent fitness, proper footwear, and preparation for rapidly changing weather. Snow may cover portions of the trail even in summer. The views from the top are among the most spectacular in Alaska. Only attempt this if you are an experienced hiker in good condition. A guide leads the group and manages pace.
